CS2 is a multiplayer tactical first-person shooter developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment. It is the fifth game in the Counter-Strike series. Valve regularly updates the game with smaller balancing patches and larger content additions. Valve has just rolled out a new update for CS2, which focuses on minor things that increase the gameplay. [ GRAPHICS ]

  • Fixed certain particle effects, like tracers, to fall back to mixed resolution for better performance when using low graphics settings with MSAA disabled.
  • Improved lighting artifacts in various interior places when compiling maps.

[ MISC ]

  • Teammate colors will now be assigned on official servers as soon as all players press ACCEPT. This will ensure that colors are correct during Pick/Ban phase, and during Warmup.
  • Improvements in Charms reactivity physics system to better align with weapon animations.

Extra notes

Some users that exploited a bug with the matchmaking lobby system in order to obtain large amounts of Armory stars were presented with the following message upon booting their game following this update:

Your trading privileges in Counter-Strike 2 have been suspended for exploiting bugged XP lobbies in Deathmatch on official Counter-Strike 2 servers.

Your trading privileges in Counter-Strike 2 will be restored on October 1, 2025.
